Lake Palace

The Lake Palace in Lake Pichola in the city of Udaipur was built as a royal summer palace in the 18th century. Today it is a luxury 5 Star hotel, operating under the “Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces”. The Lake Palace hotel operates a boat which transports guests to the hotel from a jetty at the City Palace on the east bank of Lake Pichola. The palace became famous in 1983 when it was featured in the James Bond film Octopussy, as the home of titular character.

Mahasthangarh  ( Bengali :  মহাস্থানগড় ) is one of the earliest urban archaeological sites so far discovered in  Bangladesh . The village Mahasthan in  Shibganj   thana  of  Bogra District  contains the remains of an ancient city which was called Pundranagara or Paundravardhanapura in the territory of  Pundravardhana . A  limestone slab bearing six lines in  Prakrit  in  Brahmi script , discovered in 1931, dates Mahasthangarh to at least the 3rd century BC. The fortified area was in use until the 8th century AD. Bandarban  ( Bengali  :  বান্দরবান ), is a district in South-Eastern  Bangladesh  , and a part of the  Chittagong Division .  It is one of the three hill districts of Bangladesh and a part of the  Chittagong Hill Tracts , the others being  Rangamati District   and  Khagrachhari District . Bandarban city is the headquarter of the Bandarban district. Bandarban district (4,479 km²) is not only the most remote district of the country, but also is the least populous (population 292,900).
