Hawa Mahal

A stunning pick and red sandstone five-story structure stands in the heart of Jaipur. One of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, the Hawa Mahal has a unique purpose. Also known as the Palace of the Wind, it was a place where royal women could view street activities outside while hidden from view. To this end, the pyramid-shaped palace has 953 windows, each with an intricate design. Constructed in 1799, Hawa Mahal is considered an excellent example of Rajputana architecture.

Mahasthangarh  ( Bengali :  মহাস্থানগড় ) is one of the earliest urban archaeological sites so far discovered in  Bangladesh . The village Mahasthan in  Shibganj   thana  of  Bogra District  contains the remains of an ancient city which was called Pundranagara or Paundravardhanapura in the territory of  Pundravardhana . A  limestone slab bearing six lines in  Prakrit  in  Brahmi script , discovered in 1931, dates Mahasthangarh to at least the 3rd century BC. The fortified area was in use until the 8th century AD.
